Injection Molding in Calgary

injection molding

In the injection molding process, material is fed into a heated barrel, mixed, and forced into a mold cavity where it cools and hardens to the configuration of the cavity. After a product is designed, usually by an industrial designer or by an engineer, molds are made by a moldmaker (or toolmaker) from metal. Molds can be made from either aluminum or steel. The mold is used to form the features of the desired part. Injection molding is used for manufacturing parts in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

Exploration Plastics currently has ten injection molding machines ranging from 50 ton to 500 ton in size.
